Experience

Ford Alexander began his career with Texas Commerce Bank in Houston as a lending officer in the Metropolitan Corporate Division of the bank. After four years, he was responsible for a portfolio of loans in excess of $100 million. Upon receiving an MBA from business school, Ford entered the land development business in Austin as a project manager for Peyton Collins & Company. His responsibilities included oversight of the development of two multi-use projects, Legend Oaks and Lantana, which totaled over 1,300 acres in southwest Austin. In 1989, Ford joined Brock Consulting Group, a tenant representation company, as president. After two and a half years he then started the Alexander Company, a tenant representation and site selection company. The Alexander Company was then merged into Oxford Commercial in the Fall of 1999, where Ford focuses on tenant representation assignments.

Accomplishments

Primary activities during his real estate career have focused on tenant representation and site selection. Components of these activities include strategy development, market research/identification, proposal solicitation, financial evaluation and modeling, deal negotiation, and operating expense audits.

Ford has leased over 2,500,000 square feet of office space and been involved in 11,000,000 square feet of land transactions. He has concluded several noteworthy leasing and sales transactions:

Lease: Vignette, Trilogy Software, nFusion, and UTIMCO.

Land: Freeport-McMoRan, American Constructors, Capitol Chevrolet, and Extended Stay America.

Affiliations

Ford currently serves on the board of directors of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the advisory board of Texas Capital Bank, and has served on the board of directors of Colliers International, the American Cancer Society, Austin Police Department's Blue Santa and various local professional organizations. He is a graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership Austin program, and a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
